‘Born Wild’ Raises £17,000 for Zoological Society of London (Copy)

The WFP team were honoured to have been asked to attend the Zoological Society of London Gala last month for the second year running. Hosted by David Williams and Gerri Halliwell the event raised over £500,000 for their outstanding work protecting endangered species.

Safari in the City

For the second year running we’ve been able to attend this stunning evening, with a private, after hour tour and a sit down dinner in their ‘safari in the city’ tent.

Given the difficulties faced by human populations the world over, fundraising for wildlife can seem a peculiar event at the moment. The link between wildlife crime and organised crime though is no secret, with the illegal wildlife trade currently the third largest in the world (behind people and weapons) and perpetrated by the same gangs.

It was heartening therefore to see £522,000 raised on the night and what an effort it was from the entire team. We can’t wait to be back again next year.

Represented by London’s Red Eight Gallery and a partnered photographer of conservation organisations David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and Saving the Wild, William’s work has sold around the world and been part of globally successful conservation initiatives Prints for Wildlife and New Big 5.

In 2021, together with Matthew Armstrong-Ford, William co-founded Armstrong Fortescue, a photographic safari company dedicated to getting guests off the beaten track. Their first safaris take flight this spring.

With William’s work dedicated to displaying wildlife in their natural habitat, it is with great pride 10% of every print sold is donated to his two partnered charities, David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and Saving the Wild.
