Kokoko Camp

Kokoko offers an exclusive safari experience in Ruaha National Park, accommodating up to six guests. Emphasizing exceptional walking safaris and deep immersion in nature, the camp provides a secluded retreat for those seeking a personalized and intimate exploration of the African wilderness.

Life in Camp

Located in the remote wilderness of Ruaha National Park, Kokoko is designed for exclusivity and intimacy. With only three guest tents, the camp accommodates a maximum of six guests, ensuring personalized attention and a tailored safari experience. Each tent features a retractable canvas roof, allowing guests to stargaze from the comfort of their beds, enhancing the connection with the natural surroundings. The camp places a strong emphasis on walking safaris, offering guests the opportunity to explore the diverse landscapes of Ruaha on foot. Guided by experienced professionals, these safaris provide an immersive experience, allowing guests to engage all their senses while discovering new trails and observing wildlife up close. Situated along the dry Mwagusi River, Kokoko Camp offers a secluded setting that allows guests to disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with nature. The simplicity of the camp’s design, combined with its remote location, ensures an authentic and unspoiled safari experience.

Timing Your Trip

The best time to visit Kokoko Camp is during the dry season, from June to October, when wildlife viewing is at its peak as animals gather around limited water sources. Ruaha is less affected as other areas by high season tourist numbers as it's farther off grid, but always take this in to account when booking a Tanzania safari.

Will's Ideal Pairing

"I couldn't send you this far off grid to then end up sending you back on the tourist trail. Namiri Plains is the best option for those looking for a classic big cat experience, or maybe head up to Serian Lamai if it's June/ July to catch some crossing action. For those looking for the next level of luxury and exclusivity try Singita Grumeti."
