"One of the many, many moments I owe to the quality of the guides I work with."
This is the oldest image in the new collection. It was taken four years ago in the Maasai Mara, back when the world was still navigating face masks and covid tests.
I would never have ended up under that tree if it were not for my guide, Duncan Sorrodo. We had spotted the pride a few hundred metres away and I asked him to drive us over. “No,” he said, “I’ve seen that lead lioness climb this tree before, a long time ago. Let’s see if she does it again.”

Behind the Lens
I owe so much to the Maasai Mara. It shaped me as a photographer and taught me a lot. This is the first print I ever released from my time there and how things have changed since then.
