Erebero Hills
Erebero Hills, translating to “a place where you can see far,” is an upcoming luxury lodge on the northern edge of Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Opening in early 2026, it offers panoramic forest views and serves as a gateway to exceptional gorilla trekking experiences.

Life in Camp
Erebero Hills is set to offer eight meticulously designed forest-view suites, each featuring private viewing decks with 180-degree vistas of the lush surroundings. The lodge’s architecture, developed in collaboration with Pablo Luna Studios, draws inspiration from the organic shapes of leaves and the contours of the surrounding hills, ensuring harmony with its natural environment. Constructed primarily from locally sourced bamboo, the lodge emphasizes sustainability and supports regional bamboo plantations. Beyond luxurious accommodations, Erebero Hills is committed to conservation and community engagement. Partnering with Change a Life Bwindi, the lodge is actively involved in planting 25,000 indigenous trees to create a reforested buffer zone around the national park. This initiative aims to support wildlife preservation, honor the cultural heritage of the Batwa people, and create sustainable economic opportunities for local Bakiga communities. Guests can look forward to activities such as gorilla trekking, guided nature walks, visits to the Batwa community, and participation in the lodge’s reforestation efforts. The lodge’s proximity to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest provides unparalleled access to one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth.

Timing Your Trip
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a year-round destination, with each season offering unique experiences. The drier months from June to August and December to February provide easier trekking conditions and are ideal for gorilla tracking. However, the wetter months from March to May and September to November bring lush, verdant landscapes and are excellent for bird watching, as migratory species are present. Regardless of the season, visitors should be prepared for sudden weather changes due to the forest’s tropical climate.

Will's Ideal Pairing
"Head from here to Kibale Lodge for some chimpanzee trekking (or ideally start with chimps and finish with gorillas, the headline act). Alternatively head back to Kigali and fly on to Kenya or Tanzania to go in search of big cats, super tuskers or adventures in private conservancies like Borana."
