Kibale Lodge
Kibale Lodge, opened in July 2024 by Volcanoes Safaris, offers luxurious accommodations near Uganda’s Kibale National Park. The lodge features eight hand-built bandas with private terraces, providing panoramic views of the Rwenzori Mountains and the Queen Elizabeth plains.

Life in Camp
Kibale Lodge serves as an ideal base for exploring the rich biodiversity of Kibale National Park, renowned for its chimpanzee tracking experiences. The lodge comprises eight unique, hand-crafted bandas, six deluxe and two standard—all equipped with en-suite bathrooms featuring indoor and outdoor showers, double vanities, and flushing toilets. Each banda boasts a private terrace offering stunning vistas of the Rwenzori Mountains or the rolling hills of the Fort Portal area. Guests can enjoy personalized butler service and relax in the lodge’s spa and pool facilities. The lodge’s strategic location provides easy access to chimpanzee tracking adventures in Kibale Forest and hikes to the Rwenzori Mountains, offering panoramic views of the Kabarole region’s lush landscapes.
Timing Your Trip
Kibale National Park is accessible year-round, but the optimal times to visit are during the dry seasons: December to February and June to September. During these periods, forest trails are more navigable, enhancing the chimpanzee tracking experience. However, Kibale’s equatorial climate means that rain is possible at any time, so visitors should be prepared for sudden showers regardless of the season.

Will's Ideal Pairing
"Uganda is all about primates, so from Kibale head over to Bwindi where your choices are endless. For me it's either Asilia's Erebero (opening June '25) or Buhoma Lodge."
