Kicheche Valley Camp

Tucked into a quiet corner of Naboisho, Kicheche Valley blends exceptional wildlife, warm hospitality and some of the finest guiding in Kenya. Small, stylish and effortlessly wild.

Life in Camp

Set in the heart of the Naboisho Conservancy, Kicheche Valley is one of those rare camps that gets everything right. Its setting is spectacular - rolling plains, big skies and thick acacia woodland that feels made for game drives. The camp itself is understated and elegant, with just six tents and the kind of quiet, personalised service that makes you feel instantly at home. Will’s last trip here included breakfast with elephants, cheetah on the move at sunset and evenings filled with the calls of lions in the valley below. What sets this camp apart is the space and the feeling that you are truly part of the landscape, not just passing through it. Walking safaris and night drives add another dimension for those wanting more than just the classic game drive routine.

Timing Your Trip

For big cats, dry season is best, July through October is reliable and rich with sightings but you do face the knock on effect of migration season on tourism numbers and increased rates. Will loves September for soft light and active predators or October/ November for fewer vehicles and vivid green landscapes with stormy skies.

January to March offers excellent resident wildlife and quieter days in camp. April and May bring the long rains, dramatic skies and beautiful birdlife, while December is full of new life and fresh energy. Whatever the season, Kicheche Valley delivers.

Famous For

With one of the highest densities of lions in Kenya, Naboisho Conservancy is a predator hotspot and Kicheche Valley is perfectly positioned to take full advantage. Off-road driving and low vehicle numbers mean sightings feel unhurried and often exclusive. The camp is also known for the quality of its guiding - consistently among the best in East Africa - and for its strong focus on sustainability and community partnerships. It is a camp that does things properly, quietly proving that luxury and conservation can go hand in hand.
