Olakira Migration Camp
This camp is all about timing. It moves twice a year to follow the herds, giving you front row seats to both river crossings and calving season.

Life in Camp
Olakira Migration Camp moves between the north and south of the Serengeti, tracking the Great Migration as it unfolds. In the north, the drama is intense with wildebeest packed along the Mara River as they attempt to cross. In the south, it is all about beginnings, as thousands of calves take their first steps but many never make it past go as predators lurk behind every tree. The camp blends comfort with nature. Nine tents, including a family option, are tucked into the bush. Each one has a stargazing extension, so you can drift off beneath the sky without ever leaving your bed - thinking camping meets four pillows and an en-suite. This is a camp for people who want to be close to nature, but not too far from comfort.

Timing Your Trip
Visit between June and October for a front row seat to the Mara River crossings in the north. The tension is high, the sightings are big, and every day brings something different. From December to March, the camp moves south where calving season takes centre stage. This is a time of new life, golden light and predators on the move. Olakira shows you both sides of the migration, the chaos and the calm. You just have to choose which version you want.

Famous For
Olakira is known for being in the right place at the right time. It puts you at the centre of the Great Migration, whether that is the high-stakes drama of a river crossing or the quiet wonder of calving season. The stargazing tents are a signature touch, rolled back rooftops let you sleep beneath a blanket of stars with the sounds of the bush all around you. It is a camp that feels immersive, not staged. The real thing, with a little bit of luxury woven through.

Will's Ideal Pairing
"Continue your Serengeti safari with a stint at Namiri Plains, a headline destination in this part of the world or perhaps venture down to Zanzibar for some time on the coast. Tarangire or Ruaha are great options for those looking to beat the crowds and get away from it all."
