Ubuntu Migration Camp
A seasonal camp that moves with the herds, Ubuntu puts you in the heart of the Great Migration. Intimate, understated and always in the right place at the right time, this is a camp that follows the rhythm of the wild.

Life in Camp
Ubuntu Migration Camp follows the Great Migration across the Serengeti, moving with the seasons to make sure you are always close to the action. From calving season in the south to river crossings in the north, it places you right where the wildlife is. The camp itself is small and comfortable, with just ten canvas tents including one for families. Days here start early and end by the fire, with stories shared under the stars. The team keep things personal, the guiding is sharp, and the atmosphere is warm and unpretentious. Ubuntu is made to move lightly across the land. It leaves little behind, and gives you a front row seat to one of the greatest shows on earth. If you are looking for something simple, wild and in the thick of it, this is it.

Timing Your Trip
For river crossings, visit between June and November when the camp is in the northern Serengeti. Wildebeest pack the banks of the Mara River and predator sightings are excellent. For new life and the thrill of the hunt then December to March is calving season in the south. This is when the plains fill with young and the tension rises as lions, cheetahs and hyenas move in. Both seasons offer completely different versions of the migration, both hugely exciting.

Famous For
Ubuntu Migration Camp is known for getting you exactly where you need to be. It shifts locations twice a year, following the Great Migration as it moves through the Serengeti. Whether you choose to follow the calving season at the start of the year or the chaos of the crossing in June/ July or September/ October is up to you, but neither will disappoint.

Will's Ideal Pairing
"It is hard to offer a trip to the Serengeti without time at Namiri Plains, one of my favourite camps and a must for photographers. Those less interested in photography could pair it with a trip over to the Ngorongoro or chimpanzee trekking in Mahale."
