Best Time to Visit
South Africa is a year round safari destination but Will always plans trips based on the regions and what guests want to see most. For the Sabi Sands and Kruger, the dry season from May to September is ideal. The bush thins out, animals gather at waterholes and game viewing is at its best. July and August bring cooler mornings and great sightings.
The summer months from October to March are warmer with lush landscapes and excellent birding. While the rains do arrive, they tend to be short and dramatic rather than constant. This season is also perfect for photography with clear light and newborn animals.
The Samara Karoo is best from April to October when the air is dry and crisp and game viewing conditions are strong. Will often combines these regions to create contrast, knowing exactly when each one is at its best. South Africa is all about smart timing and seamless experiences.
