Big Cats of Namiri Plains
Tanzania, March 2028

Trip Summary
Will's annual Namiri Plains safari has sold out for three years in a row. 2028 will be the sixth year in succession he has tracked the areas now famous big cats across the plains with a team of incredible guides he has worked with throughout those years.
As with ever popular previous years this trip focusses on one location throughout the duration of the safari - allowing guests to totally immerse themselves in the Namiri Plains adventure and hopefully nail those lion on the kopje or cheetah hunting shots. Indeed nowhere else in Africa is as productive for photographing these two iconic animals.
The one shift in 2028 is timing. By moving the trip from the end of March to the start of April, a negligible (if any) difference in terms of experience, it has allowed him to reduce the cost by 18%.
Dates: 1st - 9th April, 2028
Trip Cost: $10,980 per person sharing

Overview
This is the only itinerary Will offers in one camp throughout - he truly believes that nowhere else in Africa can compare for big cat photography so this ensures no time is wasted travelling between camps.
1st April
All travellers to arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (direct flights from Schiphol, Amsterdam). There will be a meet and greet service upon your arrival and a transfer organised to take you to Rivertrees Lodge, Arusha (40 minute drive) where we will be spending the first night. A chance for the group to meet, have a swim, dinner and a drink before heading ‘in to the bush’.
2nd April
An early breakfast followed by a short drive to Arusha Airport for our scenic flight to Seronera Airstrip. The drive to camp takes around 90 minutes (depending on what you see), where you'll arrive in time for lunch and a chance to unpack before heading out on your first evening game drive.
3rd - 8th April
Your days will be dictated by two things; big cat behaviour and weather patterns. April is traditionally the pre cursor to the long rains in East Africa. Huge storm clouds build over head, temperatures drop a little ensuring the lions seek the warmth of the rock kopjes - ideal for us - and the odd African storm provides sensational entertainment.
3rd - 8th April
Will will plan each day based on cats and clouds, following the action and the weather to ensure you get the most interesting images possible. When not out on safari there will be daily editing classes available, ensuring you get the best out of the images you are creating. These will be both 1-to-1 and group sessions - the latter often providing some of the most insightful moments of the trip and really pushing your photography to the next level. Throughout your time in camp you will have exclusive use of one of Asilia's brilliant photographic vehicles. With only three seats these ensure everyone has the space they need to never miss a shot (and for all those long lenses!)
9th April
Sadly all good things come to an end and following a game drive back towards Seronera Airstrip it will be time to catch your flight back to Kilimanjaro International Airport, arriving in time for your fights home.
