Big Cats of Namiri Plains

Tanzania, March 2027

Trip Summary

Will's 2026 itinerary to Namiri Plains and Ubuntu Migration Camp sold out so fast that it was impossible not to add Namiri Plains to the roster in 2027. This time though, Will has chosen to change it up and focus entirely on the big cats of Namiri Plains, spending seven nights at this stunning camp to go in search of rock climbing lions, hunting cheetah and the illusive leopards.

This change in itinerary ensures that the trip can occur a little later in the year and amidst the long rains - because while although these are never gaurunteed they add an incredible dimension to your images - with huge storm clouds above the kopjes and a reduced tourist footprint in the area as those less interested in photography are put off by the showers.

Itinerary

Overview

The exact dates for this trip are still being confirmed (March/ April 2027). The day by day itinerary opposite though is accurate and you can join the waitlist now to ensure you receive the first option to reserve a seat on this exciting safari.

Day 1

All travellers to arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (direct flights from Schiphol, Amsterdam). There will be a meet and greet service upon your arrival and a transfer organised to take you to Rivertrees Lodge, Arusha (40 minute drive) where we will be spending the first night. A chance for the group to meet, have a swim, dinner and a drink before heading ‘in to the bush’.

Day 2

Early breakfast and a short drive to Arusha Airport for our scenic flight to Seronera Airstrip (approx 1.5 hour flight time). Here we will meet our guide for our time at Namiri Plains and enjoy a game drive to camp in time to check in to our rooms before lunch under the acacia trees in camp. An afternoon game drive to remind ourselves how our camera kit works followed by our first evening around the camp fire.

Days 3 - 8

Across each full day at Namiri decisions will be based on weather and sightings. If it is cloudy and overcast there is a high chance we will be out all day, if the sun pokes through and things seem quiet we will return to camp for lunch and a chance to use the pool, relax or go through images.

Days 3 -8

Our group of six will have two dedicated, private vehicles throughout our safari. This will ensure everyone gets ample time to work with the photo-guide throughout their safari and push their images to the next level. Between safaris there will be plenty of opportunities for one-to-one editing workshops and group image review sessions - these often provide as much learning as your time in the field.

Day 9

Sadly all good things come to an end. After a final game drive in the morning everyone will return to Seronera Airstrip and fly back to Arusha in time to make international flights home that evening.

Trip Cost

$13,500 (per person sharing): This includes all safari activities, internal flights and transfers, accommodation, Will as your dedicated photographic guide and private safari vehicles throughout. Single supplements are available.
