Amanzi
One of the most remote camps in one of Africa's best kept secrets, a dream combination for those looking to get away from the crowds,

Life in Camp
Amanzi Camp offers one of the most immersive safari experiences in the Lower Zambezi, defined by its isolation and the freedom that comes with it. Reached only by boat or light aircraft, the sense of leaving the outside world behind is immediate, with vast tracts of wilderness stretching in every direction and very few other vehicles on the river. Days here revolve around a rich mix of activities. Guided canoe safaris drift silently past elephant, buffalo and hippo along quiet channels of the Zambezi, while boat cruises allow for relaxed wildlife viewing and sundowners on the water. Game drives explore the riverine woodland and floodplains in search of lion, leopard and wild dog, often without seeing another camp or track. Walking safaris add a slower, more intimate layer, led by highly experienced guides. With no fixed schedules, Amanzi feels wonderfully unhurried - an authentic and remote safari - perfect for first timers or safari veterans.

Timing Your Trip
For Will the best time to head to Zambia are the early months of the dry season. Zambia gets HOT as you get in to September and October and for photographers the window of golden light shrinks. In the early summer months of June and July those golden mornings last a little longer and the wildlife thrives before the warmer months.

Will's Ideal Pairing
"The Lower Zambezi has so many amazing camps you could easily spend eight days here along, moving from Amanzi to Kigali for an authentic bush camp feel, or going on to Old Mondoro or Chiawa to continue your safari in luxury. Away from the Lower Zambezi then South Luangwa or Busanga Plains offer another safari experience altogether and I can happily suggest this based on your budget and preferred time of year."
