Kutali
Kutali offers an off-grid intimate safari experience beneath the cool canopy of a Winterthorn forest on Kulefu Island in Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park. With just five guest tents, it provides personalised wildlife encounters through walking safaris, canoeing, and game drives.

Life in Camp
Nestled within a serene Winterthorn forest on Kulefu Island, Kutali Camp epitomizes the essence of a classic Zambian bush camp. Accommodating up to ten guests in five thoughtfully positioned tents, each offers sweeping views of the Zambezi River. The tents are designed for comfort, featuring high-quality linens, flushing toilets, running water, and traditional bucket showers. Guests can engage in a variety of activities, including walking safaris to explore the park’s diverse flora and fauna, canoeing along tranquil channels for close encounters with wildlife, and boat safaris on the Zambezi River. The camp’s location is renowned for frequent leopard sightings, offering exceptional opportunities for wildlife observation and photography.

Timing Your Trip
The optimal time to visit Kutali Camp is during the dry season, from April to October, when wildlife congregates along the Zambezi River, enhancing viewing opportunities. The clear skies and soft light filtering through the Winterthorn canopy create ideal conditions for photography and game viewing, but be warned as October gets hot - temperatures well in to the 30's, sometimes as high as 38/39, leaving wildlife fairly inactive and your window of golden light very slim.

Will's Ideal Pairing
"One of my favourite safaris I've ever been on started at Kutali and finished at Mwamba in South Luangwa. The combination of walking, canoeing and driven safaris was immaculate and gives you such a new perspective amongst your safari."
